    Job Summary:
    The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) adjunct instructor reports to the Business and Technology Department Chair.

    The HVAC adjunct instructor duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to classroom and lab instruction of basic refrigeration theory, heating, ventilation and air conditioning classes.

    Participate in professional development activities and work with the various administrative functions of the college. Teaching assignment may include day and evening classes on campus and prison location. Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Three to Five years of recent repair and maintenance in the field or relevant teaching experience. Experience and/or licensure may be substituted for a portion of the education requirement. Ability to understand the teaching and evaluation methodologies used in the total instructional process. Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff members in a professional manner. Must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds. Ability to plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments. Ability to establish effective working relationships with others. Ability to clearly communicate. Must comply with established College rules and procedures. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. or more. Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, climb, and lift arms above your head.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Associate's degree from an accredited college. Knowledge of Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations rules and regulations regarding air conditioning and refrigeration contractors and technicians.
