Role purpose/ position summary

There are certain core requirements that need to be performed to adhere to customer specs regarding the checking of process and finished product specifications. It is QA's function to approve batches to run, and to monitor that these core checks are being performed. Leads appointed are to have a mastery of all Quality responsibilities and are to act as a nexus of information for Supervisors and Managers. Additional tasks, above and beyond normal QA responsibilities, will be assigned as need dictates.

Key Accountabilities/Primary Duties & Responsibilities

A mastery of basic lab techniques such as basic lab skills, ability to use math/formulas, use of testing equip.

Be able to work with a minimum of Supervision.

Record Keeping and Record Reporting – all processing & quality control records

Sample Collection and Testing – for incoming & raw ingredients; in-process & finished goods

Information Feedback (to the production personnel) – from sample results

Inspection and Monitoring of Plant Facilities on a regular basis for:

Sanitation and GMPs

Compliance with Corporate Standards

Environmental Control

Safety

HACCP

Audit Preparation – for all customers; review of all processing & quality control records.

Recall and Recovery – assist Quality System Manager with all aspects.

Oversee Lab Personnel

Oversee the Master Cleaning Schedule

Assist in customer complaint investigation and resolution.

Follow all company policies including but not limited to general manufacturing and safety practices.

Perform any other duties as instructed by management.

Qualifications:

Minimum Experience

Basic lab experience, manufacturing experience, proven ability to follow written directions

Basic computer skills

Ability to read and write effectively

Ability to process quality documentation within a timely manner accurately.

Minimum Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

Ability to work overtime as needed

Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules

Ability to read, understand, and follow directions/instructions

Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Pass all company testing
