    Heathwood Hall Episcopal School is looking for excellence in coaching


    Heathwood Hall Episcopal School has a healthy athletics department that is actively seeking coaching talent to build strong skills in our students and teams. We are looking for coaches in the following programs:



    • Football

    • Girls Soccer

    • Softball

    • Lacrosse

    • Track

    • Bowling

    and more


    Job responsibility may include the following:


    ● Coordinates the athletics of focus in accordance with the mission and values of the Heathwood Hall athletic department and works closely with the Director of Athletics and Head of School.
    ● Builds a team culture of competitive excellence and high character.
    ● Directs all phases of a successful program training schedule including practices, workouts and games during the in-season, off-season, and summer.
    ● Handles game field and practice field maintenance and prep - including painting and lining the fields.
    ● Maintains the locker rooms, game day uniforms, and practice gear/equipment, including laundry, cleaning, organizing, and washing.
    ● Encourages broad participation from student athletes on campus, and collaboration with other members of the coaching staff.
    ● Promotes players for local, state, and national recognition, and to colleges as applicable.
    ● Attends public functions that represent the School and the program as instructed by the Head of School or Athletic Director.
    ● Oversees all equipment needs and ordering of equipment for the program.
    ● Keep a continuous line of communication with everyone associated with the program, including but not limited to parents, athletes, officials, transportation
    needs, gear, other coaches, and the Athletic Director.

    Performance areas that must stand out for Heathwood Coaches include:

    Rapport


    A coach must be able to develop a good rapport with any number of individuals and groups: The student body, the professional staff (faculty, administration, maintenance), the Community as a whole, spectators, officials, fellow coaches in the district, media representatives, and parents. Good rapport and an image of competency and care are invaluable for the coach.

    Organization


    The school expects the its Coach staff to put a maximum effort towards organizing and managing a multifaceted program that includes ownership of everything from
    transportation to gear tracking, hiring assistant coaches to designing community events.


    Leadership


    Diligence, enthusiasm, honesty and a love for the game are all part of a professional pride that should be exhibited by any coach. Personal appearance, dress, and physical condition should be exemplary. Dressing appropriately for practice, following practice schedules and building positive attitudes are very important.

    Discipline


    Every facet of discipline is the coach's responsibility. Individually, the coach becomes the model of all that the program represents - observation of school codes, training rules, rules of the game, ideals of good sportsmanship, behavior of participants throughout the season (at home and away) and the conduct of the crowd - especially where the student body is concerned. Desire to do well; to win well, and to lose well, should be emphasized. Staff, players and spectators should be motivated toward established goals.


    Stipend: Commensurate with experience.
