    Atrium Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Pediatric PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a nursing job in Charlotte, North Carolina.

    Progressive Care Unit:
    The 8th floor is considered the step-down unit from the PICU/CVICU. They are a 20-bed unit with 4 observation beds.

    All the cardiac, nephrology, and neurosurgical children are to be admitted to this floor, along with any child that is considered progressive.

    Progressive care is initiated when patients require more frequent monitoring or increased nursing care needs. Candidates must have 6 months of experience outside of training.

    Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital (LCH) has taken the community to another level of service to provide care for the growing population of children in our region.

    At 247 beds, LCH is the largest children's hospital between Atlanta and Washington DC.

    It serves high acuity patients as the flagship children's hospital within the innovative Atrium Health and offers a full complement of over 125 pediatric subspecialists in over 30 different pediatric specialties.

    We have 4 pediatric hospitalist teams, a 20-bed PICU (including Cardiac ICU), an 85-bed Level IV NICU, and an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation floor.

    Levine Children's Hospital is also Charlotte's only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, staffed by doctors trained in pediatric emergency medicine.

    LCH has successfully ranked as a Best Children's Hospitals by U.News & World Report for 16 consecutive years.

    Additionally, Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center and Levine Children's Hospital have earned Magnet re-designation from The American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program.

    Magnet designated health care organizations showcase excellence in nursing practice and patient outcomes.

    The RN Clinical Nurse I provides professional nursing care through skillful assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with facility or department policies procedures, and/or protocols under the supervision of the nursing leader.

    Collects data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or the situation. Analyzes the assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.
    Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or the situation.
    Implements the identified plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.

    Delegates elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with any applicable legal or policy parameters or principles.

    Practices in a manner that is congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles.
    Collaborates with healthcare consumer and other key stakeholders in the conduct of nursing practice.
    Contributes to quality nursing practice.

    Evaluates one's own and others nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules and regulations.

    Utilizes appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible.

    Promotes shared governance, or facility decision making activities, developing and nurturing research to positively affect clinical outcomes and promotion.

    Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.

    Must speak English in good, understandable terms. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical Abilities Testing required.
    Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Current Basic Life Support required per policy guidelines.

    Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state in which you work and reside or; or for Non-National License Compact states, current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner required in the state where the RN works.
