    Daily Specimen Volume:
    7-15 specimens (clinical cytology workload)

    Job Requirements

    Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cytotechnologist in an inpatient laboratory or hospital cytology setting

    ASCP-CT certification required

    Experience with SurPath and ThinPrep platforms and cytology specimen types (Ascitic Fluid, Esophageal, Gastric, Spinal, Bronchial, Urine, etc.)

    Proficiency in slide screening, specimen collection, smearing, staining (Cytolyt, GMS, Iron, PAP), and preliminary diagnosis

    Ability to assist with on-site procedures and provide adequacy checks for FNA, EBUS, and ION in the OR

    Familiarity with cytopathology workflow, quality control, and laboratory information systems preferred

    Valid Maryland or Compact license required at time of submission

    Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

    First-time travel cytotechnologists welcome — travel cytology jobs in Maryland are encouraged to apply

    Responsibilities

    Work two days per week at Northwest Hospital and three days at Sinai Hospital; float between assigned hospital locations as needed

    Provide adequacy checks for FNA, EBUS, and ION performed in the OR at Northwest Hospital

    Assist with FNA procedures and slide screening at Sinai Hospital, including onsite cytology support

    Perform slide screening, preliminary diagnoses, staining, and microscopy for routine and special cytology preparations

    Perform specimen labeling, identification, and clinical laboratory quality control and assurance tasks

    Collaborate with pathologists, technologists, and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care and pathology services
