    As Berklee develops a new strategic vision, The Library plays a central and pivotal role, further solidifying its position as a valuable resource for all campuses and learning modalities supporting curriculum and fostering independent learning and discovery. The Library is a vital component in Berklee's efforts to advance the vision of remaining a cutting-edge technology institution.

    The Creative Technology Center (CTC) provides students with resources and opportunities to learn and become proficient with music and multimedia technology used in the curriculum and the industry. The CTC is also implementing strategies to promote and support the use of technology by music, dance, and theater students at Boston Conservatory at Berklee (BCB).

    Under the broad supervision of the Director, Creative Technology Center, the Manager of Training and Programs leads the CTC's peer-to-peer music and multimedia technology training program and also develops relevant and impactful programming for group technology instruction and extracurricular events.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develops a comprehensive semesterly program to support, enhance, and complement the Berklee College Music (BCM) curriculum on audio technology and notation.
    • Along with the Director of CTC works with BCB leadership on exploring training and support opportunities for students to use multimedia and performance technology in music, dance, and theater.
    • Designs and directs group training offerings in the areas of music, audio, video, multimedia, and other computer applications.
    • Manages the Creative Technology Center's Peer Training program, a peer-to-peer audio technology, notation, and multimedia training resource for Berklee students. Responsible for promoting, training, scheduling and timecard approval of CTC Peer Trainers.
    • Instructs CTC Peer Trainers, Equipment Specialists and ITL Lead student employees in the use of the CTCs appointment scheduling software, ensuring appointments are posted and accurate attendance recorded.
    • Along with the Manager, Creative Technology Center, leads training on relevant job skills for the CTC's Lab Monitors.
    • Markets CTC training workshops and events via social media platforms and college wide communications.
    • Cultivate strong working relationships with academic departments and other institution areas to meet the goals established within the Creative Technology Center.
    • Consults with Director, Creative Technology Center to develop training and programs for Berklee learning environments.
    • Maintains accurate and timely collection of attendance and engagement via the CTC's online training sign-up systems and databases, analyzing data and publishing reports of training efforts and related statistics.
    • Assists the Director with special projects.
    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
    • 3 - 7 years of experience working with music production, audio recording and mixing, and/or music notation technologies - preferably in a training or supervisory role.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of current tools and techniques for music and audio production.
    • Strong teaching skills in individual and group settings with a commitment to fostering the development of students' technology skillset.
    • Strong technical understanding of hardware and software in order to assist students in troubleshooting problems.
    • Strong knowledge of various music and audio software products. Mac preferred, Windows knowledge a plus.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills.
    • Effective written and editorial skills to prepare training materials and video content.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage and interact with internal and external partners, establishing productive relationships.
    • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, race, creed, color, national origin, disabilities, ethnic backgrounds, genders, ages and sexual orientation of students and employees.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule; including occasional evenings and weekends.
    • Bachelor's Degree in music or related field preferred.
    • Knowledge of video production and video editing software is a plus.
    • Knowledge of game audio middleware and game engines is a plus.
    • Familiarity with Immersive Technologies such as VR/AR, 360° video and surround audio formats and production workflows a plus.
    • Strong public speaking skills.
