- Plan, organize, direct and control all store activities and operations with the assistance of Assistant Managers, Department Managers and other supervisory teammates.
- Review financial and operating results to determine where the store stands relative to budgeted sales, expenses, and payroll.
- Make effective and objective decisions regarding operational choices in work procedures. Over see inventory of all departments, new product purchases, scheduling and other situations where multiple factors must be considered and weighed to maximize operating results.
- Control level of damaged and spoiled/out of date products and ensures proper disposition of same according to company policy.
- Assess staffing needs; interviews and hires store teammates and ensures store teammates are able to identify and hire qualified candidates to meet the staffing needs; coordinates with the area manager.
- Terminates poor performing teammates when required.
- Ensure that all teammates are courteous to customers and that requests, refunds and complaints are handled promptly and courteously.
- Responsible for maintenance of prompt and accurate checkout service through the proper supervision of front end teammates and cashier accuracy.
- Communicate and coordinate with Area Manager to provide feedback from the store.
- Control inventory levels to minimize overstocks and out ofstocks within the policy guidelines for the store to maximize sales.
- Responsible for all cash on hand.
- Responsible for preparation of store projections and store operating budget.
- Responsible for ensuring that invoice documents are recorded accurately on the applicable receiving log. That all signed invoices are stored in the respective designated secured areas, and that all signed invoices are forwarded to the corporate office according to company policy.
- Interface with manufacturer's and sales representatives; evaluate vendor promotions in accordance with company policy to select and purchase those products that provide savings benefits with a goal of increasing sales, inventory turnover and customer traffic in the store.
- Conduct store walks in accordance with Management Awareness. Ensures that all Assistant Managers are trained to conduct store walks in accordance with Management Awareness.
- Responsible for efficient and effective delegation of duties to achieve maximum performance of teammates including proper followup to assure satisfactory performance.
- Mediate disputes and solves problems between teammates and department managers or any combination of the preceding. Reports to the Human Resource Department for documenting policy procedures.
- Ultimate responsibility for informing, training and motivating teammates and to implement disciplinary actions when required to correct behavior that involves policy violations or actions that have an adverse effect on the store operating performance or may potentially have such effects on the store or its affiliations.
- Responsible for store compliance of company policies, programs, procedures and guidelines.
- Keep work area maintained appropriately to ensure a safe work environment for teammates and customers.
- Must be able to perform other duties.
- Must be able to unload trucks, breakdown load and stock product.
- Work with store teammates to identify the root causes of issues and inefficiencies.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required. College background preferred. 5 years experience in the supermarket industry with completion of a management training program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Possess good customer relations skills. Must be able to read and understand income statements. Must posses above average math skills. Must have good communication and problemsolving skills. Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English language. Ability to manage effectively.
- Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be forklift certified.
- Works in a well lit, well ventilated area. Occasional exposure to refrigerated storage areas, damp/humid conditions and seasonal outdoor weather. Local and long distance travel required. Subject to seasonal road conditions and other traffic hazards. Subject to communicable disease.
- Heavy work exerting pounds of force occasionally, and 2550 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must posses good audio, visual and hearing acuity. Requires walking and/ or standing up to a significant degree. Must be able to climb, stand, bend, push or pull, twist, grasp, squeeze, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, handle, finger and feel. Subject to psychological stress.
