Who We Want:
Technical Responsibilities:
•Influence, lead, and mentor technical team in design and development of components, sub-systems, and/or systems for medical devices
•Apply and mentor others on advanced engineering theories, principles, and concept across various products within business unit and across business units
•Assess new/game changing technologies for use within/across businesses and product lines
•Decision making and mentoring for correction of complex product design issues
•Act as independent reviewer for design reviews and product development projects
•Contribute to intellectual property filings and strategies
•Lead the design of the enterprise systems/solutions in alignment with requirements and define architecture
•Generate and review the necessary documents with project teams. (requirements/design/architecture/bugs/test)
Business Responsibilities:
•Possess an in-depth knowledge of the industry and competitive landscape in the business unit
•Assess emerging opportunities and technologies that can better meet clinical needs. Partner with clinicians and key opinion leaders
•Mentor, teach, and develop best practices for voice of customer and customer centric design activities
•Collaborate and mentor on financial/business modeling and leads business reviews to validate a technical approach
Med Device Compliance:
•Divisional expert with extensive experience applying indu+L25stry standards in device development across businesses
•Influence creation and adoption of divisional design control and risk documentation within the quality management system
•Lead and influence across business units, seen as an expert advisor in the development of standards and regulations into procedures
General Responsibilities:
•Lead cooperative efforts with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success
•Lead team to create procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology requirements
•Team expert, who leads development and utilization of tools & systems which enhance the company's product/process development and performance
•Mentor and grow technical talent within discipline/function
•Lead work activities for complex product development amongst cross functional teams, demonstrating depth in multiple technical areas of expertise
•Identify and implement breakthrough solutions amongst multiple R&D teams, demonstrating business and divisional influence
•Recommend procedural and process improvements and may provide resources or help to remove obstacles to team accomplishments
•Contribute to review and evaluation of technical personnel performance
•Lead code reviews for projects/systems as independent reviewer applying design principals, coding standards and best practices
•Collaboratively review and update coding standards
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
•Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering/ Computer Science or related discipline & 10+ years of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Strongly desired):
Technical Skills:
•Led systems and portfolio technology choices leveraging programming skills or scripting languages
Design and Development Skills:
•Drive the strategy of integrated development environments (IDE) for projects and the corporation
•Driving the strategy for static/dynamic analysis, memory management, code coverage and techniques for analyzing software
•Integration and deployment processes
Software Process Skills:
•Drive the adoption of Software Development Life Cycle process changes and best practices. Provide strategic planning and guidance for project based SDLC decisions
•Drive the adoption of Application Lifecycle Management /Traceability best practice and tools
•Drive the estimation techniques for code implementation time/resource for overall projects and portfolios
•Regulatory and compliance standards applied to the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
