    Parent Support Partner Department:
    Residential Treatment

    Position Summary:
    Support caregivers by assisting them in navigating the legal, mental health, education, child welfare, juvenile justice systems

    Gateway Longview's Residential Treatment Services is a therapeutic intervention for youth ages 12-18 and supports them in developing the skills needed to successfully live with their families or in the community.

    Compensation

    Bachelor's Degree:
    $ $21.59 per hour

    Master's Degree:
    $ $23.38 per hour

    Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Collaborates with other service providers to enhance engagement and partnership in order to improve both the experience and outcomes for families
    • Facilitates connections to services, family activities, and trainings
    • Provides individual and group instruction to family in the home, on campus, and in the community
    • Documents contacts as required in electronic record system
    • Other duties as assigned
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


    • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills
    • Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented
    • Ability to work independently and be an enthusiastic team player
    • Possesses lived experience with child welfare and/or juvenile justice system
    • Possesses a belief that parents must have a meaningful voice and a primary decision making role in the care of their children
    • Ability to use your lived experience and training to inspire hope and reduce stigma and blaming of families
    • Ability to listen without judgements to families ideas, decisions, and recognized families efforts and strengths
    • Excellent relationship building, interpersonal and coaching skills
    • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity and supportive approach to the needs of others
    • Ability to physically restrain youth after successful completion of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training
    • Ability to work effectively with clients, staff, families, and community contacts
    Qualifications


    • Has or will obtain a NYS Credentialed Family Peer Advocate and maintain requirements for certification
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Valid NYS Driver's License
