- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong background and/or education in health care.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Ability to speak Navajo or Spanish is desired.
- Must either be registered through the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy as a Non-certified Pharmacy Technician or have current national certification and NM license as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Must be registered or certified and licensed by date of hire.
- In both cases, must be under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist throughout employment.
- All technicians are required to obtain national Pharmacy Technician Certification within one year of registration as a Non-certified Pharmacy Technician from a NM Board-approved national body such as the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). In addition, must obtain a Pharmacy Technician License from the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy.
- After obtaining national certification and NM license, must maintain current throughout employment.
- According to PMS Human Resources Policy , "Healthcare Personnel Testing & Immunization Requirements," this position must comply with required testing and immunizations. Testing and immunizations including TB, Hepatitis B (consent or waiver), Tdap, MMR, and Varicella, will be available at the employee's PMS health center. Influenza vaccines will be required according to dates set by the CDC and NMDOH.
