    SUMMARY:

    This position is responsible for providing electrical/controls engineering expertise within the Renewal by Andersen (RbA) team supporting business growth projects.

    The ideal candidate for this position is an innovative thinker and has a passion for operational excellence.


    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Provide and/or coordinate detailed quotes/estimates for controls workWrite machinery control functional specificationsDesign the power and control wiring of industrial automation equipmentWork with vendors to assure specifications and code requirements are followedDocumentation of electrical design changesConduct machine operational testing during Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance TestingProject management skills; deliver safe, effective, sustainable, and reliable solutions (Project planning, approval process, equipment specification, budget, preventative maintenance, acceptance plans, design review, safety assessments, capital request)

    PLC programming and operator screen developmentParticipative team approach to problem solving and root cause analysis with associates, supervisors, maintenance, operations, Value Stream Managers, and peersSupport the maintenance and operations team with advanced controls troubleshootingAssess current vs future electrical technology capabilitiesMust be able to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings for equipmentCoach, mentor, and train less experienced staff on technical topicsPosition may require participation on an on-call, 24/7 controls system support on a rotational basisTravel requirements:
    Less than 10% for training, corporate visits, and vendor visits
    • QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field2+ years of engineering experience preferred with controls/automation systems backgroundExperience with Rockwell PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix), motion/servos (Kinetix), variable speed drives (PowerFlex)Knowledge of visualization/operator interfaces (FactoryTalk View SE) and Thin Client/Thin ManagerExperience with Rockwell communications software (FTLinx)Experience with Rockwell Automation Studio5000 programming softwareEthernet/Ethernet IP machine-level networkingExperience with basic electrical components such as sensors, motors, indicators, circuit protection, etc.
    Experience reading and creating electrical schematicsKnowledge or experience with AutoCADProficient in safety system design & troubleshooting; understanding of safety categoriesTest basic safety and control systems using relays, PLC/HMI programming, VFDs and/or servo motionProficient in safe work methods (lock out tag out, arc flash)Communicate effectively through written, verbal, listening, and presentation skillsStrong aptitude in problem solving, collecting data, performing statistical analyses, and making process improvements through sound, data-driven decisionsComfortable with hands-on workInterest in working in a manufacturing settingProficient with the use of common electrical testing toolsMechanical aptitudeSelf-motivated and able to learn quickly; being able to work independently and on a team depending on the situationExperience with change management strategies


    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
    Experience with robotics (preferably Fanuc), CNCs, IIoT devices, vision systems, and/or machine to machine connectivity. Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Equipment design experience with UL 508A and NFPA79 Experience with the National Electric Code (NFPA70), workplace electrical safety based on NFPA70E, and PM needs/strategy based on NFPA70

    In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate.

    Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
