    Staten Island University Hospital'sDepartment of Behavioral Health Sciencesprovides comprehensive psychiatric care in a private, patient-centered environment.

    With over 1,450 discharges per year, it is considered to be one of the most active comprehensive mental health centers on Staten Island.

    Our 35-bed inpatient unit provides short-term hospital care to evaluate and stabilize patients with acute psychiatric disorders.

    There is a strong focus on returning patients to normal functioning as soon as possible while rebuilding self-esteem and improving socialization.

    As part of Northwell Health,Staten Island University Hospitalis a 714-bed teaching institution located in New York City's fastest-growing borough.

    Occupying two large campuses, plus a number of community-based health centers and labs, the hospital provides quality care to the people of Staten Island, the New York metropolitan region, and to patients from around the world.

    Staten Island University Hospital is a major affiliate of the SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn and serves as a clinical campus for the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine.
