    ABOUT THE ROLE


    As a CBRE Assistant Building Engineer, you will perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds.


    This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job and is responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
    Oversee shift operations, assign work orders, and provide technical and procedural training of coworkers and subcontractors.
    Review assigned work orders.
    Estimate time and materials needed to complete repair. Order necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.
    Perform assigned repairs and emergency and preventive maintenance.
    Complete and review team maintenance and repair records as required.

    Plan and put in place a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.

    Inspect building systems such as fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing. Confirm operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.

    Maintain an energy management program to make sure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum.

    Perform welding, carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks as needed.
    Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning assistance as needed.
    Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to complete assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
    Have a broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
    Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
    May convince to reach an agreement.
    Impact the quality of own work and the work of others on the team.
    Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
    Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks.
