Occupational Therapist:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in assisting patients to improve their daily living skills and regain their independence. You will work with individuals to help them overcome obstacles and achieve their desired level of function. Your expertise in assessing patients, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions will contribute to their overall well-being and quality of life.

Setting:

Acute and Transitional Care Departments at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot, Idaho
Full-time, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.

2. Collaborate with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to set achievable goals and develop individualized treatment plans.

3. Provide evidence-based interventions and therapies to improve patients' physical strength, coordination, motor skills, and range of motion.

4. Create or recommend adaptive equipment, assistive devices, or modifications to patients' environments to enhance their independence and safety.

5. Teach patients compensatory techniques, educate them on energy conservation, joint protection, and self-care skills.

6. Monitor and document patients' progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain accurate records of assessments, treatments, and outcomes.

7. Provide guidance and support to patients' family members, caregivers, and other support groups in maximizing patients' functional abilities.

8. Stay updated on the latest research, advancements, and best practices in occupational therapy and incorporate them into the treatment plans.

9. Adhere to ethical and legal standards, maintain patient confidentiality, and ensure a safe and hygienic treatment environment.

Requirements:

1. Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.

2. Valid state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist.

3. Proven experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting.

4. Excellent knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and psychology.

5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

6. Proficient in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions.

7. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

8. Ability to prioritize workload, manage time efficiently, and work independently.

9. Compassion, teamwork, and strong ethical principles.

10. Physical stamina and dexterity to work with patients of varying physical abilities.

11. Willingness to continuously learn and expand professional knowledge through continuing education and professional development opportunities.

12. Familiarity with electronic medical records and digital therapeutic tools is a plus.
