Mechanical Assembler I is an entry level position.

The purpose for an operator at this level is to gain a basic understanding of deburring and air grinding operations.

Operators must obtain a basic level knowledge in order to deburr and clean parts in a manner necessary to produce precision parts with direct supervision by a more senior Mechanical Assembler with Deburring Certification (level II or above).

Follows established standard work under general supervision in efforts to obtain certification within 120 days. The operator will typically refer problems or deviations to more experiences operators including Lead Technicians, Supervisors, or engineers.


Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain and operate deburring and air grinding tools and operate speed lathes.

Read blueprints in order to verify work was completed properly.

Operate and do daily/weekly checks on equipment.

Accurately participate in the COPQ process, utilizes ACE portal for issues or process improvement.

Accurately complete production documentation and performs necessary labor transactions.

Support and follow all rules/guidelines/standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions as set by your leader and position.

Actively participates in the Continuous Improvement process as well as safety related activities


Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires HS Diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required

U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required


Preferred Qualifications:
Manufacturing background preferred.

Manual dexterity to perform tasks associated with assembly and calibration

Ability to learn how to read and understand prints.

Ability to learn basics of the position within first 3 months of employment.

Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management
