    WSP is currently initiating a search for a Rail Vehicle Engineer to join our Transit and Rail Team for projects located in the Boston, MA area.

    This position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced team who provides solutions for rail vehicle engineering projects.

    Your role could include involvement through all stages of a project's life cycle, while working closely with project and technical managers.

    Support Project Managers and internal stakeholders in planning and executing projects, including project setup, project implementation, and closing as per WSP's Project Delivery procedures
    Assist with developing and maintaining project Work Breakdown Structure and schedule

    Keep track of project deliverables (contractor and consultant) and provide a timely escalation of project issues including client concerns and feedback as required.

    Author project letters summarizing salient issues to the Contractor.
    Coordinate and liaise between engineering reviewers and inspections of technical submission of rolling stock documentation.
    Track and monitor budget and expenditure under the guidance of Project Managers
    Interface when necessary with the accounting team regarding client invoicing, payments, and the monthly project billing cycle
    Track and manage compliance with requirements of quality management processes or plans
    Coordinate and document team communications
    Coordinate document delivery, updates, filing, and implement other control systems
    Visible support resource for knowledge of WSP systems and protocols
    Provide technical document reviews, proofreading for accuracy, completeness, compliance with corporate policies, formatting adherence, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling
    Assemble and ship project work plans, health and safety plans, and reports to various agencies and clients
    Prepare project progress reports and status updates
    Review Technical Specification documents
    Investigate rail system issues as requested by the client
    Perform billable work and other tasks as assigned as best fits training and ability
    Bachelor of Science or Engineering in the Engineering or science fields
    A minimum of 5 years' experience in a rail and transit related field, preferably working for a consultancy, manufacturer or agency
    Leadership ability with demonstrated project management experience in rail vehicles or material inspection fields.
    Knowledge of and experience with rail fleet technologies
    Experience testing and commissioning rail vehicles, coaches, rail cars and work cars
    Good communication and writing skills
    The ability to work in a disciplined manner with little supervision
