    Are you the type of person who works well with a team and thrives in a challenging but rewarding environment? In this role you will apply your skills in designing, developing, and testing embedded software for Vermeer equipment.

    We're looking for your developed skills and experience in C, C++, Qt, Matlab/Simulink, Plant Modeling, Simulation, Machine Controls, and/or virtual testing to assist us in continuing to make our products the best in the business.

    What You'll Do

    • Develop, Integrate, Test, and Debug moderate to highly complex embedded software for Vermeer machine control systems and displays.
    • Provide direction to test technicians, as well as production and service personnel in the testing, manufacture, and servicing of our machines.
    • Utilize your embedded software expertise in providing technical leadership for moderately to highly complex systems, while mentoring less-experienced engineers and other less-technical personnel.
    • Provide direction in the definition, analysis, and allocation of software requirements, along with developing machine-level testing approaches and procedures.
    What We're Looking For

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or other Engineering field with an emphasis on embedded software with two years direct and applicable work experience OR other two or four year degree with at least sevn years of direct and applicable work experience .
    • Prefer a deeper mechanical and/or hydraulic aptitude to better understand advanced machine function .
    • Proficiency in C, C++, and/or other embedded programming languages, including a demonstrated ability to use source code editors, IDEs, compilers, and other specialized engineering software .
    • Proficiency in any of the following : Artificial Intelligence, Continuous Improvement, Robotics, Machine Learning, DEVOPS (Continuous Integration/Deployment), Machine Automation .
    • Proficiency in control system theory and application . Preferred knowledge in control system design for off road vehicles, Controller Area Network ( CAN ) , and J1939 protocols .
    • Proficiency with visual programming environments, such as MathWorks Simulink, National Instruments LabVIEW and/or Danfoss PLUS+1 GUIDE .
    • Proficiency with modelbased design tools, such as MathWorks MATLAB .
    • Ability to design, test, and implement Human-Machine Interface and Virtual Instrument components and controls .
    • Ability to understand needs of stakeholders and incorporate into function of machines .
    • Ability to analyze, develop, and write specifications that direct software code development .
    • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies .
    • Knowledgeable in the areas of electronic circuits, microcontroller architectures, and principles of operation .
    • Experienced with test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, and signal generators .
    Travel

    • Occasional travel is expected of this position.
