    Description

    The Director, Supply Chain Master Data is accountable for leading the team that is responsible for managing the supply chain master data function principally to support the maintenance of accurate data in the enterprise ERP system(s). The Director is also accountable for overseeing the management and maintenance of contract pricing data and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of pricing information across the organization.

    This is a remote position, some occasional travel may be required.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Implement a comprehensive data governance framework, policies, and procedures to ensure the integrity, quality, and consistency of supply chain master data and pricing across the enterprise and all systems. Develop and enforce data standards and guidelines to maintain consistent and harmonized master data across all supply chain systems, including setting data quality standards and metrics to monitor and improve the accuracy of master data.
    • Develop the standards for the use and maintenance of the enterprise Contract Management System and/or contract management repository in close coordination with Sourcing leadership. Leverage and support the use of the Contract Management System to align with the ERP(s) to ensure alignment between contract pricing and terms to make certain that contract documents, line-item pricing, and ERP(s) are all in synch to enable seamless transactional procurement processes.
    • Oversee the management and maintenance of item master data, including item descriptions, attributes, classifications, and other relevant information in the supply chain systems. Establish data quality standards, metrics, and validation rules to monitor and improve the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of item master data.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sourcing, procurement, inventory management, and operations, to understand data requirements, define item attributes, and ensure data integrity throughout the supply chain. Align data attributes and standards to support operational and clinical use of supply chain master data in downstream/ ancillary systems including the enterprise EMR (Epic). Ensure the accuracy of key clinical attributes to safeguard patient care.
    • Lead the identification and implementation of technologies to support the maintenance of supply chain master data, to include data cleansing services, data attribution, and automation. Monitor the use of these tools by teammates to make certain that the technologies are being fully leveraged to support ongoing data maintenance. Identify opportunities to enhance item master management processes and systems, collaborating with IT teams and vendors to implement system improvements and automation.
    • Define and enforce item classification standards and guidelines to ensure consistent categorization and grouping of items within the supply chain systems. Implement and enforce data standardization practices to maintain consistent and harmonized item master data across systems, processes, and departments.
    • Oversee the maintenance of contract pricing in the ERP and necessary ancillary systems to ensure accurate transactional procurement and contract compliance. Establish processes to make certain that all prices are loaded in a timely manner to minimize match exception rates and ensure that contract price is paid for products. Collaborate with Sourcing and Procurement staff to ensure adherence to pricing agreements and contractual obligations, resolving pricing discrepancies and discrepancies in a timely manner.
    • Implement industry data standards such as UNSPSC, GLN, GTIN, etc in the Item Master. Remain current on emerging standards in industry by reading of trade journals, interviews with suppliers, participating in educational opportunities, serving on industry committees, etc.
    • Lead the maintenance and onboarding of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) data to enable GHX transactions. Develop the workflows and feedback loops required to minimize transaction disruption. Unify EDI utilization across regions and markets to ensure a consistent approach to this technology.
    • Work closely the AVP, Supplier Management and Engagement, as well as Director, Supplier Data and Enablement to make certain that supplier data and setup aligns with supply chain master data strategy and processes. Work collaboratively to establish standard and processes to ensure alignment between the teams and functions.
    • Lead and manage a team of item master specialists, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management to ensure the accurate and timely management of supply chain master data, pricing and contracts. In the interest of ensuring a clean and accurate item master, ensure that all work is done with the utmost attention to detail. Perform routine verifications to ensure data is entered and maintained accurately. Make certain that established standards are followed.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    License/Registration/Certification Required: Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) preferred.

    Education Required: Bachelor's degree required or 5 years of direct relevant work experience in healthcare supply chain analytics will be considered in lieu of a degree.

    Experience Required: Typically requires at least 7 years' experience working in data management and/or supply chain in a healthcare setting. Non-healthcare industry experience will be considered in lieu of direct healthcare experience. Experience in a leadership or managerial role required.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    • Strong understanding of item master data concepts, data governance principles, and data quality management best practices.
    • Experience in implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures, and driving data quality improvement initiatives.
    • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a highly demanding and fast paced environment.
    • Familiarity with supply chain management systems and tools, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Product Information Management (PIM) systems.
    • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
    • Exceedingly strong level of attention to detail with proven ability to lead teams to maintain high levels of data quality and standards, without exception.
    • Proficiency in purchasing software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

    • This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
    • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
    • Exposed to a normal office environment.
