Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tool Room Helper to support our H-1 Helicopter Modification Team at Camp Pendleton. The successful candidate will assist in managing tools and equipment, ensuring they are in optimal condition and readily available for our skilled technicians and engineers. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of our modification operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tool Management: Organize and maintain tools and equipment in the tool room. Ensure tools are clean, properly stored, and regularly inspected for wear and tear.
- Inventory Control: Track tool usage and inventory levels, order replacements or repairs as needed, and manage tool check-out/check-in processes.
- Support Operations: Assist technicians and engineers in locating and retrieving tools and equipment required for modification tasks. Provide on-site support as needed.
- Maintenance Coordination: Work with maintenance teams to ensure tools are calibrated and serviced according to industry standards.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a Tool Room or similar role is preferred but not required. Experience in Aviation or Military environments is a plus.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to handle tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of tools and equipment used in helicopter maintenance and modification is advantageous.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA) are a plus but not required.
- Clearance – Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Secret Clearance and Base Access CAC card.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
- This position will be based at MCAS Camp Pendleton, CA. You will work in a tool room and occasionally in a hangar or workshop settings, where noise levels and physical activity can vary.
- Position involved long periods of standing and sitting.
- May be required to walk around aircraft hangar around aircraft with floors that can be slick.
- Position may require lifting, bending, squatting, pushing and some climbing on step ladder – 2 feet or less.
- May be exposed to some sealants, adhesives, tooling oil.
- Must be able to list 50 lbs independently
- May be around active running aircraft and exposed to high level of noise.
