    Pay Range: $16.20-$18.85/hourly.

    Resident Companion - Per Diem

    Resident Companion will provide companion services, non-medical assistance, and support to help the resident thrive safely, comfortably and independently in their own apartment.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Personal laundry for residents weekly or as needed.
  • Serve/prepare meals.
  • Encourage and/or remind residents to participate in activities.
  • Encourage socialization among residents.
  • Carry out pet care tasks, as needed.
  • Grocery shopping.
  • Errands.
  • Housekeeping duties as assigned by resident.
  • Companionship/social interaction.
  • Communicate all pertinent information to other staff.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff.
  • Treat all residents with dignity and respect.
  • Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong team approach to working with other staff.
  • Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, vendors and the general public.
  • Must have a valid NYS driver's license.
  • Must possess high school diploma or equivalent with reading, comprehension and writing ability at 12th grade level or higher.
  • Experience or interest in working with older adults.

    Performing duties of this job requires lifting, bending, walking and standing. Must be able to occasionally lift loads of 30 pounds without assistance and the ability to sit, talk, and hear is required.
