Roles & Responsibilities
As an Environmental Engineer in our Groundwater Protection and Reuse Value Stream, you will review complex wastewater treatment plant engineering and design plans through the process of application receipt all the way to issuance of Aquifer Protection Program Permits.
Technical expertise in wastewater treatment engineering, design, and operation will be critical for the selected candidate in addition to customer service, strong organizational skills, and project management.
The selected candidate will review applicant components to ensure that they are complete both administratively and technically in order to comply with State regulations.
Skills RequiredReview of Best Available Demonstrated Control Technologies (BADCT) to ensure that designs are protective of Groundwater and Reuse applications
Provide guidance to staff and customers on problems identified in technical reviews
Perform environmental calculations based on provided methodologies and engineering disciplines
Assist in preparing environmental guidance documents and mentorship of staff
Prepare Engineering memos and other forms of technical writing for permits
Proficient in the interpretation of the Arizona Administrative Code and relevant Arizona Revised Statutes relating to the Aquifer Protection Program
Technical collaborator who is aware of or can problem solve through challenges with technical items, customer challenges or stakeholders
Skills Preferred
Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona
Operator Certification(s), Treatment and Collection Systems
Managing Projects and/or technical experts in engineering, hydrogeology, or other environmental specialties
Experience Required
EIT in Arizona at a minimum
Experience Preferred
5+ years in the wastewater treatment processes and direct project management.
Education Required
B.S. and/or M.S. in Engineering with a focus in one or more of the following; Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, other relevant field
