    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Utility Engineer.

    As a Utility Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, planning, and management of utility infrastructure projects, with a focus on compliance with TxDOT standards and regulations.

    The ideal candidate will possess a professional engineer's license and have demonstrated expertise in utility engineering, particularly within the context of transportation projects.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Lead the design and coordination of utility relocations, adjustments, and installations for transportation projects, ensuring compliance with TxDOT standards, guidelines, and specification
    • Create and maintain schedules for utility relocation and installation, ensuring that all activities align with project timelines
    • Review utility design submissions from consultants and contractors to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to project requirements
    • Schedules and attends Utility Meetings, Public Utility Meetings, OnetoOne Utility Meetings, TxDOT / Municipality coordination meetings
    • Some overnight travel will be required
    • Identify potential risks associated with utility coordination and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success
    • Requires a lot of walking outside yearround across all kinds of terrain and in extreme heat and cold

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
    • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the state of Texas
    • 5 years of experience in utility engineering, with a focus on transportation projects and TxDOT standards
    • Familiarity with local and federal regulations related to utility infrastructure
    • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record (ability to travel to project sites as needed)
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
