Job Description

Teijin Automotive Technologies Sarepta facility is seeking to fill a Senior Material Handler position on 1st shift

Position is responsible for material handling, load/unload trucks, related paperwork, safe operation of fork trucks and other material handling equipment to support product flow for raw material state to product shipment to our customers.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Senior Material Handler will be responsible for reporting safety hazards associated with the fork truck and other material handling equipment to his/her Supervisor immediately. It will be the responsibility of the driver to assure that mechanical work requested is completed, and that daily mechanical check sheets are completed for all mechanical devices used by them during each work period. Safe procedures must be used at all times.
• The Senior Material Handler will be responsible for keeping accurate material, shipping and receiving records. All records should be neat and legible with the appropriate copies made and distributed. Discrepancies should be brought to the attention of the Warehouse Coordinator and/or Materials Supervisor.
• Loading/Unloading of raw materials and finished goods to and from assigned locations. Receiving UPS, Federal Express, etc.
• Housekeeping duties designated by Supervisor. Be willing to work overtime as required.
• Maintain receiving log and acquire proper signatures.
• Keeping outside storage areas organized and clear of all debris and trash.
• All of the above should be done with care to ensure that Teijin quality standards are maintained and any damage to product or equipment is brought to the attention of the responsible person/persons.
• Sending ASN's and confirmation of same.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Basic general educational level
• Good math skills
• Good communication skills
• Valid driver's license
• Identification of hazardous chemicals
• Proficient in operation of forklift.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Position requires excellent health and physical condition. Must be able to operate stretch wrapper and floor scales. Good range of motion requiring walking, standing, stooping, bending, reaching, and carrying up to 50 lbs on occasion. Good eye/hand/foot coordination. Must be able to operate forklift and motor vehicle. Valid driver licenses are required. Some telephone usage required.
