    Job Description

    Tx-Star Speech Language Services has been serving schools since 2010, partnering with over 40 school districts and various educational institutions. Our staff are highly trained and experienced in special education roles, offering unique insight into serving diverse districts and matching contract service providers with campuses and student populations.

    We are recruiting Speech Language Pathologists to join our team in San Antonio, TX. Our SLPs play a vital role in providing speech and language therapy services to students from preschool through high school, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support communication needs and facilitate full participation in educational programs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders, employing diagnostic tools and practices to accurately identify student needs.
    • IEP Development: Develop, implement, and adjust Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or 504 Plans for students with speech and language impairments, ensuring specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound goals.
    • Therapy and Intervention: Provide direct therapy in school settings, utilizing evidence-based practices to address speech, language, voice, fluency, and related disorders, engaging students in activities and exercises to mitigate impairments.
    • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with teachers, parents, and professionals to implement comprehensive support strategies for students, providing guidance and training to school staff and families to support speech and language development.
    • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and confidential records of evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as professional ethical standards.
    • Professional Development: Stay current with the latest research, tools, and techniques in speech-language pathology, participating in professional development opportunities and applying new knowledge to practice.

    Requirements:

    • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders.
    • Valid Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
    • Prior experience working in a school setting or with pediatric populations is highly desirable.
    • Strong understanding of federal and state special education laws.
    • Experience working with individuals with diverse learning needs, including autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, and emotional/behavioral disorders.
    • Familiarity with Special Education principles and practices.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff as well as parents of students.
    • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to multiple school locations as needed.
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in music therapy and special education.
    • Bilingual - Spanish language skills are highly valued.
