- Set-up, operate, troubleshoot and make necessary adjustments to the Mixer machine following established procedures and guidelines with minimal supervision to mix/mold material.
- Adhere to and follow all quality guidelines. Continually check product for quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Operate hoist, hydraulic press, bucket truck and fork truck to lift/transport raw materials and finished products while adhering to all power industrial equipment rules and safety requirements.
- Maintain clean work environment by wiping down machine and cleaning work area with air hose after each order; operate grinding machine as necessary; maintain machine as required and reporting any maintenance issues immediately to supervisor and maintenance department.
- Transfer and separate EPDM bags per mold specification; open bags and pour into hopper.
- Utilize computer at workstation to login, enter/review production data and work orders as required.
- Provides constant communication with the management staff concerning the production status of high-end quality oriented materials.
- Cross-train into other job functions providing assistance as necessary within the department.
- High School Diploma/GED or 4 years of machine operator/manufacturing experience required.
- English fluency (read, write, speak); ability to communicate well (written/verbal).
- Forklift certification/experience desired; bucket truck experience preferred.
- Previous manufacturing experience required; Previous machine specific experience preferred.
- Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment (dirty, confined spaces, strict timelines, etc.), attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands.
- Read and understand units of measure.
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
- Demonstrated comfort with data entry and basic computer skills; ERP experience preferred.
- Must be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner.
- Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements.
- Able to safely perform related physical requirements/demands of the role.
- Manufacturing Environment: This position may operate in a manufacturing setting with conditions of high-pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous gas/chemical fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment and/or exposure to dust (pigment). The position is required to wear PPE including, but not limited to safety glasses, steel toe/composite boots and earplugs.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending, reaching, climbing, stooping, lifting, pounding, pushing and/or pulling. Move throughout the work location to comply with safety requirements.
- Exert up to 130 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move object.
- Manual dexterity to move material and operate equipment.
