About the Job
An Electrician 1st-Class is responsible for the layout, installation, and repair of shipboard cables, lighting, and electronic equipment, as well as the ships' power.
Utilizing an assortment of hand and power tools, test equipment, and a working knowledge of blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
Ingalls shipyard production areas involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions, and multiple shifts.
The role requires the ability to work safely in all situations, adhering to safety procedures that meet and often exceed industry standards.
Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
A minimum of four (4) years of electrical experience in the commercial, industrial, or marine electrical field is necessary.
Preferred qualifications include one (1) year of shipboard experience and the ability to read marine blueprints and work from standard and metric specifications.
Familiarity with wiring hookup, fiber optics, and other relevant skills is advantageous.
A degree from an accredited school is also required.
Work Schedule
Five days a week, 40 hours, with flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift as needed.
