Our **Henderson Community Hospital** is seeking an experienced **Cook/Baker**. We are looking for your experience, knowledge and patient care skills in our **Food Services Department** where you will be responsible for:
Responsible for proper preparation and handling of food for patients, public and catered food service by following standard recipes, production sheets and menus to meet established quality standards and customer needs.
Follows recipes, production sheets and menus to prepare food for patients, public food areas and catering which meets established quality standards and customer needs.
Utilizes resources effectively through proper utilization of food, supplies and equipment improve budgetary performance.
Organize multiple tasks prioritizing work and utilizing culinary skills to properly prepare and handle food for patients, public and catered food service.
Maintains clean and sanitary work area utilizing appropriate resources and techniques to provide safe food in a clean and sanitary environment.
Participates in quality improvement activities of the department to improve operations and to increase customer satisfaction.
Provides good customer service by utilizing good communication skills and technical knowledge to ensure UT Health and departmental objectives are maintained.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience:
1 to 3 years institutional or hotel food service experience required
1-3 years general work experience preferred
Must be able to read and write and follow oral and written directions
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques
Basic knowledge of the proper and safe operation of food preparation and cooking equipment
Basic math as required to follow and adjust recipes
Ability to work well with other team members
Ability to interact with other employees and individuals who come to the dining area in a pleasant manner.
Active listening skills
Good problem solving skills
A personal demeanor that exemplifies courtesy and empathy
Basic personal computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Windows operating system; database and word processing skills required
Strong time management skills

Demonstrates good team work
Certification and Licensure:
Tyler Smith County Public Health District Food Training Certificate required within six months of hire
