Responsibilities Serves as a CYS Services Supervisory Program Specialist with responsibility for supervising a minimum of 8 ratios of children 0 - 5 in a Child Development Center (Ages 0-5) or 6 ratios of children/youth in a School-Age Program or Youth Center IAW.
Works in-ratio 50% of the time providing breaks for assigned staff, modeling appropriate behavior, and providing program oversight and accountability during all hours of program operation.
Assists Director with requests for recruitments utilizing Army CYS Standard Position Descriptions. Supervises and evaluates employees based on established performance standards as required. Ensures timely submission of personnel actions. Prepares work schedules to meet ratio and group size requirements. Monitors and analyzes adult/participant ratio sheets to ensure proper staffing. Ensures children/youth are appropriately supervised at all times. Acts as Director in Director's absence up to 20% of the time. May work in additional CYS facilities for the purposes of providing management oversight for evening or weekend openings. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications 1. Successful completion of a 4-year college or university degree with a major course of study which directly relates to the appropriate CYS field consistent with: - For positions in Child Development (CDC/SAS)Facilities:
The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as related behavioral science.
