    Manager of GIS and BIM systems (Florida)

    (Direct Hire)


    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Mange the CAD/GIS/BIM Technical Team.

    Provide direction in the production of models, conceptual plans, drawings and exhibits supporting our clients' departments for various projects ranging in size and complexity.

    Review and update the data for models and maintain the asset database in accordance with the client's standards.




    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

    1)Manage the CAD/GIS/BIM Technical Team that provides routine drafting and design support for the Engineering and Construction Department during the planning and conceptual phase, design phase, construction phase and closeout phase for various projects and programs.

    2)Develop conceptual plans, preliminary engineering drawings, models and exhibits for a variety of projects ranging in size and complexity.

    3) Prepare the various drawings and perform field inspections on new and existing utilities including electric, fiber, and water and wastewater systems.

    4) Manage the Airspace review and approval; assign the case number and upload onto the FAA website as needed.


    5) Review changes in the FAA's Airport Layout Plan; update the FAA Electronic ALP (ALP) as required by the FAA from project to project.

    6)Confirm data aligns with the clients standards; verify data integrity and collection of facility and asset information from capital projects and maintenance work.

    7)Review and verify CAD/GIS/BIM projects documents received from the Architect, Engineers and Contractors.

    8)Administer the maintenance and update the GIS Database for infrastructure using CAD, GIS and BIM; conducts informational queries, prepare maps and inputs field data in the GIS database; prepare clear and accurate drawings &details for various departments based on needs.

    7)Manage the maintenance and update the geospatial data of municipal GIS databases including converting and archiving existing data and inputting geospatial data collected from utility construction projects.

    8)Coordinate the completion of field work for verification of the as-built drawings and using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Portal and Storybook, Trimble units at locate existing facilities or map new facilities for the GIS database.

    9)Verify the preparation of various scaled drawings from field notes, reduction of field notes, plots and checks centerlines and cross-sections on computer.

    10) Manage the conversion of as built and record drawings from CAD/GIS/BIM drawings to PDF's.

    11) Manage the preparation of the permit applications including supporting maps, sketches and data for al projects including both permanent structures and temporary equipment during construction from various municipal and governmental agencies.

    12) Participate in department meetings providing technical support and guidance for CAD/GIS/BIM related work. Supervise employees in assigned area.

    Assign work; monitor hours of work and authorize time sheets; oversee quality, quantity and timeliness of work performed; confirm the compliance with established policy, procedure and standards.

    Advise management of areas of concern and recommend solutions. Prepare and conduct performance evaluations; develop and provide training as needed.

    13) Participate in interviewing and selection of employees, and recommend disciplinary action as needed. Provide for the safety and security of the work area.

    Perform other duties as assigned.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor's degree in Geography, Engineering, Computer Science or related field and five (5) years of CAD/GIS/BIM work experience for a consulting firm, a construction company, a public agency, or an airport, rail, port authority involved with the design and construction of small- and large-scale projects, or an equivalent combination of related education, training, and work experience.


    SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

    Knowledge of BIM, GIS and CAD and their application in surveying, utilities locate, construction standards and materials, calculations and engineering practices.

    Knowledge of FAA Imaginary Surfaces, airspace restrictions, clearance, and requirements, FAA's Airport Layout Plan and the FAA Electronic ALP (ALP) program

    Knowledge of the terminology, methods, practices and techniques of computer drafting and design. Knowledge of level and transit survey equipment.

    Knowledge of simple trigonometry, especially as applied to the making of routine survey computations. Ability to proof documents for thoroughness and accuracy.


    Advanced computer skills and us of a variety of computer programs, including Microsoft Office, CAD, GIS, BIM and other various office equipment.

    Experience using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Portal and Storybook required.

    Ability to make technical computations, interpret field notes and apply them in complex oral and written instructions.

    Demonstrated leadership skills.

    Good oral, and written communication and interpersonal skills.

    Analytical approach to problem solving. Ability to perform spatial analysis.


    LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:



    • Valid Florida driver's license
    The following trainings and/or certification preferred o Engineering Intern (El)

    ° Certificate in CAD, GIS and BIM is a plus. o ESRI Training Certifications


    • Geo Spatial Training Services Certifications
    • Member of FLURISA Florida Urban and Regional Information Systems Association.

    SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES:



    • Directly supervises a staff of approximately one (1) - two (2) employees: as well as oversight of contracted staff
