POSITION SUMMARY
The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stock and count equipment or supplies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(This is a representative list of the duties the position may be asked to perform and is not intended to be all-inclusive.)

Operate the forklift to lift, move and position machinery, equipment, products or other large objects
Use proper hoisting attachments and observe the load before movement occurs to ensure that it is secure
Compare load weight with the capacity of the forklift in order to prevent overloading
Perform a pre-inspection on any equipment operated
Assist in the maintenance and routine housekeeping of the work area and equipment being used
Manipulate forklift controls in a safe manner and direct the forklift to the appropriate destination while effectively communicating via written, oral and/or signaled instructions
Obey and follow all safety rules and policies
Wear all appropriate safety equipment (PPE)
Perform all other duties as assigned by manager and/or supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma or equivalent education
2+ years forklift operating experience
Basic written and verbal skills
Ability to perform basic mathematical skills
Must be reliable and have the ability to accept responsibility for his/her actions
For new hires, must meet all Performance Energy Services employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen
For new hires, must successfully complete all required training by Performance Energy Services
