    Position Title: Experience RN - Registered Nurse - Wound Ostomy - Days and Nights Available

    Location: University of Oklahoma Medical Center
    Shifts Available: Full-Time (40 hours/week) 8 hour shifts General Description:
    Under limited direction, have authority, responsibility and accountability for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of wound and ostomy throughout OU Medical System. Essential Responsibilities:

    • Consults on special patient cases where a need for specialized wound care and instruction has been identified
    • Establishes a treatment plan for patients and their families to follow
    • Administers medications specific to wound care
    • Notes and carries out physician orders
    • Takes emergency actions as required
    • Reports symptoms and significant changes in patient's condition to appropriate personnel
    • Evaluates the patient's/family's response to care and makes appropriate adjustments as needed
    • Serves as a resource person for medical and hospital staff regarding wound care
    • Collaborates on discharge needs and the readiness of a patient's discharge with the medical team
    General Responsibilities:
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred
    Experience: Two (2) years experience in Nursing.
    License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Board Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse, Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse, or Certified Ostomy Continence Nurse certifications preferred. For AD to BSN student, obtain certification within 18-24 months post BSN. Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
