    Nurse Externship

    Description:

    The premier Nurse Externship program at the #1 hospital in Wisconsin provides nursing students with a 10-week clinical immersion experience. As a nurse extern, you will work alongside a RN clinical coach, delivering direct patient care and gaining valuable experience in various inpatient and ambulatory clinic/procedural departments throughout the Madison-based UW Health campus.

    Key Highlights:

    • Gain experience in inpatient and/or ambulatory clinic/procedural departments
    • Work alongside a RN clinical coach and perform direct patient care duties
    • Rotate through various departments, including University Hospital, American Family Children's Hospital, East Madison Hospital, and regional clinic sites

    Requirements:

    • Current enrollment in a Baccalaureate Nursing program
    • Successful completion of two clinical courses as a nursing student prior to program start date
    • Prior experience working in a patient care role is preferred

    Benefits:

    • 90% FTE, 36 hours per week schedule
    • Shift differentials apply for PM, Night, and weekend shifts
    • This is a paid externship opportunity
