    About the job Electro-

    Mechanic Technician Primary Function:

    Ensures the operation of machinery and mechanical/electrical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.

    Follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications and troubleshooting malfunctions.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Locates sources of problems by observing electrical/mechanical devices in operation; listens for problems, using precision measuring and testing instruments Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles or replaces defective electrical equipment such as plugs, switches, outlets, controls, ballasts, motors using hand tools, test equipment and service manualsTests installations to check and ensure continuity of the circuit, and the compatibility and safety of all components using test equipment such as a multimeter.

    Adheres to all plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    Follows all Food Contact Packaging Safety requirements as outlined in the Quality ManualDetermine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instrumentsAdjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and straightedges Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring complianceFabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipmentMaintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receiptConserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job resultMaintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

    Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsAssists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansionsEnsures all maintenance and repair activities are in compliance with OSHA, Federal, Local and plant safety standardsInvestigates equipment failures and difficulties diagnosing faulty operation, and to make recommendationsPerforms other related duties as assigned by managementSkills & Knowledge Required:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or 2-5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Knowledge of the principles of electricity and electronics. Knowledge of basic mechanical devices and mechanisms. Basic PLC troubleshooting skills (Desired).

    Interpret and apply blueprints, schematics, maintenance manuals, and assembly instructions:
    Study and comprehend new technologyBasic understanding of Safety procedures Experience with Power Tools Critical decision-making abilityFlexibility and adaptability and ability to focus and pay attention to detailExperience in Manufacturing a plus
