- Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process, including weld requirement symbology
- Work with stainless steel only
- Set up and calibrate power supply with the correct welding program
- Weld together metal components of products such as piping systems, pipe and tube or structural shapes, using arc and arc gas welding equipment
- Perform less complex TIG welds (hand) greater than 1⁄4 inch
- Perform tack welds
- Maintain regular checks on welding equipment ensuring that machines are operating properly
- Plan work and selects proper tools working within precise limits or standards of accuracy
- Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects
- Manipulate parts to match print and dimensional specifications
- Perform a variety of electric arc, inert gas and heliarc welding in flat, horizontal and vertical and overhead positions on structural apparatus or metal precuts including pre-heated, stress-relieved work requiring root penetration which may be subject to Maganflux, x-ray or pressure-tight welding test
- Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques
- Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for stainless steel material
- May work with fixturing, Acon Table, and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
- Work with conventional and precision measuring instruments
- May conduct process and peer inspectionEducation & Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma from a technical school
- TIG welding knowledge and experience
- 2-4 years of related experience
