JOB SUMMARY: Provide ability to perform maintenance on water system and wastewater collections as needed throughout the Bethesda Water Supply system
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Field Tech I: Under supervision, performs repairs and maintenance on the water/ wastewater systems, including water/sewer mains, sewer line manholes, and sewer line clean outs, main breaks, water taps, trouble shooting of pump stations. Performs minor maintenance on all assigned operating equipment and tooling. Performs landscaping work following planned or emergency repairs to the water/ wastewater systems. Performs other maintenance related duties in water/wastewater division, as required. Performs daily checks on assigned vehicles to ensure proper and safe operation. Operates light vehicle, performs operator's maintenance on vehicle. Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Field Tech I: High school education or equivalent. Must have a valid Texas Class "C" driver's license, Class "C" Groundwater License, or obtain required license within one (2) year of employment. Communicate in English, clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
Requirements
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Lifting loads up to 50 lbs. (measuring up to 36"); carrying 50 lbs. (up to 15 feet); pushing/pulling 20 lbs.; gripping/rotating hand tools; stair/step climbing, ladder (accessing truck); walking; sitting; standing; near/far vision; working in outside temperatures including excess heat, cold, and precipitation.
Pre-employment screening required: Motor Vehicle Review, Criminal Background Check.
