    Description

    The key duties of this role will include;

  • To provide effective operational leadership for the Security Team.
  • Oversee security at the College to protect College assets, students, staff, and all visitors, to the College in accordance with the high standards set by the College and as per regulatory requirements.
  • Oversea the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of the security staff.
  • Ensure all College security and safety policies and protocols are implemented.
  • Carry out regular walk throughs and security and safety inspections in all areas of the College.
  • Collaborate across departments such as curriculum, safeguarding and events on activities pertaining to security and report accordingly.
  • Liaise with emergency services and relevant stakeholders in the event of an incident.
  • Stay abreast of evolving security and safety trends and regulations and provide recommendations and procedural enhancements.
  • Provide training and instruction to the team members.
  • Implementation of holiday arrangements within the team to ensure workload requirements are addressed.
  • Identify gaps in training for the Security Team and report to the line manager accordingly.
  • Ensure all checks are complete such as fire systems, fire extinguisher, access control, CCTV, vehicle, etc.
  • Delegate tasks to the team to ensure maximum effectiveness.
  • Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them.
  • Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems.
  • Assist with in-house investigations and report accordingly.
  • Promote a 'Safe Site' policy across the College.
  • Undertake any other relevant duties as may be requested by the Director of Estates & Facilities and Health & Safety Manager.
  • Ensure the department KPIs and SLAs are met.

    We require someone with an appropriate security license, door supervisor and CCTV qualifications. You will have extensive security experience with good working knowledge of security protocols and procedures. Ideally you will have previous experience of managing others and be willing to operate flexibly to meet the needs of the business. You will be committed to providing an outstanding customer experience. You will enjoy good health to enable you to travel across the college estate and access all college buildings and areas to complete opening up/locking up of college areas.
