    Description

    Scrap Metal Buyer

    Location: Dallas, TX

    Salary: $150,000-175,000

    Benefits: Health care, vision, dental 401k.

    I'm partnering with a Louisville, KY company to bring on board a skilled Scrap Metal Buyer. Your main goal will be to grow our ferrous and non-ferrous accounts by sourcing high-quality scrap metal daily. You'll be the go-to person for both internal and external customer service related to our metal business.

    In this role, you'll communicate complex information and work closely with management to shape our Metals division's strategy and direction. You'll also be in charge of negotiating with steel scrap dealers, ensuring timely deliveries, and purchasing non-ferrous metals from industrial accounts.

    • Keep a list of industrial accounts that supply scrap metal and regularly purchase materials from them.
    • Evaluate and classify non-ferrous metals based on quality standards.
    • Stay informed about the actions of local competitors in the market.
    • Visit current suppliers to nurture and strengthen relationships.
    • Coordinate scrap purchasing activities with Facility/Yard Managers, Transportation, and Accounting.
    • Stay updated on environmental regulations to ensure compliance when purchasing materials.
    • Support in developing annual procurement plans and opportunities for the region.
    • Adhere to company safety, environmental standards, ISO, and OSHA compliance.

    Experience Needed: Minimum of 5 years
