    LSSI researched local and national workforce development programs, seeking to understand the types of programs that are most effective in creating lasting change for systemically affected and unemployed individuals.

    The outcome of that research resulted in the creation of our own Workforce Development Program called LSSI WORKS:

    -programs/lssi-works/, using the highly successful, long-term, and unique model of Cara Plus out of Chicago, Illinois:


    SUMMARY OF WORK:


    As a member of the LSSI Works team, the Recruitment Specialist (RS) is responsible for sourcing untapped participants for participation in the Works program.

    The RS does this by maintaining mutually beneficial partnerships with a wide range of internal and external referral sources, engaging a diverse group of prospective participants and enrolling participants in LSSI services.

    The ideal candidate should posses interaction skills, be versatile, people-oriented, competitive and persistent to achieve results and reach goals as directed by the program and organization.


    Key aspects of the RS role : Interpersonal skills, Goal Orientation, Influencing Others, Self-Starting, Time and Priority Management, and Planning and Organizing.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Relationship Management


    Prospecting for new participants by networking, cold calling, marketing or other means of generating interest from potential external referral partners.

    Working closely with LSSI's intake team to strategically source for hiring trends while considering both the skills and barriers of prospective candidates.

    Leading initiatives to create a robust participant pipeline and build relationships with LSSI's internal referral partners.
    Nurturing strong positive relationships within the community and representing LSSI Works to increase referral partnerships.
    Managing current partnerships by communicating regularly to establish rapport, gauge understanding of LSSI Services, and source new participant leads.

    Conducting telephone or face-to-face conversations with prospective participants to understand their needs and refer to other LSSI Services, as needed.

    Conducting regular referral partner site visits and hosting site visits at LSSI.

    Program Management

    Providing excellent customer service to program participants and referral partners and working to resolve any barriers to program participation.
    Maintaining an accurate daily schedule of recruitment interviews and site visits.
    Responding in a timely manner to internal and external program inquiries.
    Updating and maintaining accurate electronic participant files.
    Clearly communicating program policies and procedures to prospective participants.
    Maintaining accurate drug testing records and updating data systems as well as administering drug tests when necessary.
    Submitting requests for criminal background searches and updating data systems.
    Participating in participant Orientation and Onboarding activities.
    Setting, pursuing and attaining goals for the program and organization


    Qualifications:
    Two years of experience in client-focused industries such as hospitality, customer service, required.
    Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases preferred.
    Valid driver's license, in force auto insurance and vehicle for full time business use required.
    Effectively communicate, build rapport and relate well to all groups of people
    Experience working directly with systemically affected and diverse populations.
    Demonstrate initiative and willingness to begin working.
    Prioritize and complete tasks in order to deliver desired outcomes that align with program and organization goals.
    Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting set goals.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required.
