    Job Description

    We are seeking a licensed Respiratory Therapist to join our team in a complex and ever-evolving work environment.

    This role involves assessing patient/client needs for equipment, selecting, instructing, and troubleshooting appropriate equipment and/or services provided to meet those needs.

    About Us

    Total Respiratory is a fast-growing Durable Medical Equipment (DME) company providing respiratory equipment, including CPAPs/BiPAPs, oxygen concentrators, and other respiratory devices.

    Our mission is to provide the highest quality respiratory equipment, supplies, and customer service to meet the respiratory needs of our patients.

    Responsibilities

    • Train and assist with daily operations of Respiratory Therapy, including vents, intake, coverage, and quality assurance at existing and new locations.
    • Receive and document orders for equipment and/or services from referral sources, physicians, patients/clients, family members, or caregivers.
    • Collect additional information and/or authorization as needed.
    • Assess patient/client needs and select the best choice of equipment and/or services to meet their needs.
    • Instruct patients/clients in the proper use and care of equipment according to written policies and procedures.
    • Communicate with patients' physicians on changes in condition and/or needs and carry out adjustments to the Plan of Care/Treatment.
    • Rotate to various branches to support business and patients, as needed.
    • Track and maintain follow-up on preventative maintenance and schedule visits for respiratory therapy equipment assigned to clients.
    • Assist with scheduled visits of clients receiving oxygen therapy, as needed.
    • Complete patient/client accounts paperwork, including Plans of Care/Home assessments.
    • Act as a liaison between the company and patients, families, caregivers, physicians, and healthcare agencies/staff on cases.
    • Conduct, participate, and attend educational meetings and seminars for healthcare workers, patients/clients, families, caregivers, physicians, and community members on areas of need.
    • Develop and implement discharge plans for agency patients/clients.
    • Assume full responsibility for actions, professional skills, and attitudes.
    • Support the organization by being loyal and informing the branch manager of areas of concern and problems to be resolved.
    • Maintain awareness of third-party reimbursement, criteria services, billing, patient/client paperwork, and equipment offered.
    • Be willing to work after normal business hours and on weekends.
    • Oversee all clinical functions performed by the company.
    • Perform job functions with Company Mission, Vision, and Goal Statements in mind.
    • Show a flexible attitude and willingness to take on extra tasks as necessary.

    Experience & Qualifications

    • High degree of integrity.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
    • Respiratory care experience and/or home care experience in the field of respiratory care.
    • Thorough knowledge and skills related to Home Medical Equipment.
    • Able to effectively manage all respiratory products provided by the company.
    • Ability to recognize needs and concerns of people resulting in constructive working relationships.
    • People-sensitive characteristics with a genuine desire to help others.
    • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational, customer service, and time management skills.
    • Ability to cater to diverse customer base.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility.
    • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

    Schedule

    • This is a full-time position requiring a 40-hour work week.
    • Hours: Generally, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday-Friday.
    • This position has an on-call rotation.
    • Overtime as needed.

    Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory response from a Background Screening.
