Lead our carbon removal (CDR) data systems
    Description

    About Vaulted

    Deep
Vaulted is an emerging leader in permanent carbon removal.

As a Biomass Carbon Removal and Storage (BiCRS) solution, Vaulted delivers permanent, high quality carbon removal at scale through the geologic sequestration of carbon-filled organic waste.

Vaulted's approach is designed to be the lowest cost, gigaton scale, permanent carbon removal.

We sequester sludgy organic wastes (biosolids, manure, agricultural, food waste, paper sludge, etc.) that today are sent to a landfill, dumped into an ocean/river, land applied, or otherwise left to decompose, releasing Green House Gases (GHGs) into the atmosphere.

Vaulted leverages a suite of patented, mature, geologic slurry sequestration technologies which allow us to sequester organic waste with minimal processing.

We inject deep under the earth's surface, where the carbon is permanently trapped under a layer of impermeable rock - the same formations that have kept hydrocarbons underground for millions of years.

We have two permitted, operational, facilities allowing us to reach near-term meaningful scale.
Our carbon removal approach goes beyond vaulting carbon. It inherently improves local environmental and human health. In doing so, our operations redress historically unjust waste management practices and advance environmental justice.
Vaulted is backed by leading carbon removal and climate investors, including Lowercarbon Capital, Earthshot Ventures, and WovenEarth Ventures.
    About the Role

At Vaulted, we are committed to an ambitious expansion strategy that includes the development of new sites and precise verification of credit generation within our operations.

The rate of our expansion and the scalability of our Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) initiatives hinge crucially on our capacity to establish new injection sites across diverse geographical regions and to authenticate the credits generated by our existing operations.

The CDR Data Lead will be instrumental in this process, playing a critical role in facilitating seamless collaboration with current CDR verification teams and auditing processes.

Additionally, this role will be responsible for maintaining rigorous data organization standards throughout our site development operations, ensuring that our growth is both strategic and data-driven.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of data quality, managing all data queries, leading data audits, and maintaining our database integrations, including ArcGIS systems.

As a CDR Data Lead at Vaulted, your core responsibilities will include:

    Data System Management:

Implement and oversee the maintenance of the CDR data system, ensuring its optimal functionality and integration with other tools and platforms.

    Data Quality Assurance:
Develop and enforce standards for data quality and accuracy. Handle all aspects of data validation and cleansing to ensure reliable data for decision-making.

    Query Management:
Address and resolve complex data queries from both internal stakeholders and external partners to support ongoing CDR projects.

    Audit Leadership:

Lead and manage audits conducted by external companies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including facilitation of Validation and Verification processes.

    GIS Mapping and Database Maintenance:
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date database of all mapping data in ArcGIS. Ensure that GIS data integration supports the operational needs of CDR projects.

    Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare regular reports on the status of the data system and provide insights and recommendations for improvement. Maintain comprehensive documentation of all data processes and systems .

This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment where your contributions will directly lead to mitigating, and eventually reversing, the worst impacts of climate change.

    What You Will Bring

To succeed in this role, and to help the company to succeed in our mission, the CDR Data Lead will need, most of all, restlessness, drive, hustle, and a deep sense of urgency.

You will manage multiple threads at the same time, while delivering rapid results for our rapidly growing team, if for no other reason than the planet simply cannot wait.

In addition, we seek a candidate with:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Geoinformatics, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Proven experience in data management and analysis, preferably in environmental or sustainability projects.
Expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), particularly ArcGIS.
Experience in compliance frameworks relevant to environmental data management.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work with complex datasets.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
