    Description

    The Keller Group is proud to partner with an amazing East Valley client in their search for a Senior Buyer. In this role, you will oversee the procurement of raw materials needed for manufacturing. Your role involves collaborating with business partners to find suppliers; you will be responsible for negotiating prices, and ensuring timely delivery of raw materials/commodities. You will strategize to cut costs, improve lead times, and manage inventory effectively while fostering strong supplier relationships.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
    • Manage the purchasing process from quote to delivery.
    • Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to plan material needs.
    • Handle purchasing tasks such as creating orders, resolving issues, and managing returns.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize purchasing agreements.
    • Monitor order details, prioritize rush orders, and minimize disruptions due to back orders.
    • Negotiate pricing with suppliers and resolve invoice discrepancies.
    • Identify and implement process improvements.
    • Use metrics to drive positive changes and communicate regularly with internal teams.
    • Maintain supplier relationships and improve lead times and pricing.
    • Facilitate meetings with vendors and support Research & Development in sourcing new materials.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 5+ years of experience in procurement.
    • Strong math and computer skills.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Proficiency in contract negotiation and supplier relations.
    • Strong team player; ability to collaborate well with others
    • Continuous Improvement mindset
    • Experience with MRP systems preferred.
    • Familiarity with nutritional ingredients a plus.
    • College degree preferred.
