    The Leidos Military and Veterans Health Solutions Operation has an opening for a Research Coordinator to join the Operational Readiness Directorate at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, CA.

    This work provides support to the Epidemiology and Data Management Support Department and involves research on the mental and physical health of military personnel to improve military readiness, wellness, and quality of life.

    Under direct supervision, the Research Coordinator will perform duties related to the support of research projects, including protocol development, drafting regulatory documents, participant recruitment, screening participants for eligibility, consenting of participants, training participants on study procedures, and conducting and scoring assessments.

    The Research Coordinator will maintain study documents, manage data collection, arrange regular meetings, and monitor research protocols.
    Primary Responsibilities

    • Contributes to the development of protocols and drafting of regulatory documents.
    • Recruits, screens, and consents research participants.
    • Conducts neuropsychological and mental health assessments.
    • Scores, records, and inputs data from neuropsychological and mental health assessments.
    • Manages database and performs basic statistical analyses.
    • Trains participants on study procedures including a sleep and behavior tracking app.
    • Manages participants and answers study-related questions.
    • Creates reports on study progress and presents to study team.
    • Attends staff meetings and facilitates communication and processes between medical clinic and study team.
    • Complies with safety and security policies and procedures and ensures adherence to study protocol.
    • Reports potentially unsafe conditions.
    • Effectively communicates with colleagues across multiple areas.
    • Travels to various military installations as needed for data collection.
    • Ensures research tasks are completed on time and of appropriate professional quality.
    • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required for the customer research mission.
    • Complies with all required Leidos and Government requirements and complete required certifications and trainings.
    • Supports Leidos business development efforts such as contributing subject matter expertise to funding proposals.

    Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology or related field from an accredited college or university and at least one year of related experience working with patients or participants in a research study.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills; excellent organizational skills; excellent problem solving skills; and excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse team.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment; project management and coordination skills; ability to prioritize tasks; and effectively plan and prioritize work.
    • Ability to self-start, act on objectives in an independent manner, demonstrate leadership, and work independently and in a team.
    • Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with patients, co-workers, & healthcare professionals.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Windows, and data entry for research.

    • Willing to work at military installations in San Diego and travel, up to 10% time, for meetings and conferences.
    • Hold US Citizenship and are able to obtain and maintain a SECRET government security clearance.

    Pay Range:
    Pay Range $53, $97,525.00

    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.

    Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
