Job Description:
The Assistant Football Coach assists with all aspects of the football program to include: coaching during competitions and practices, recruitment of student-athletes, academics, and NCAA compliance.
80% Inherent in coaching are these primary missions and responsibilities: Recruiting, as assigned by the Head Coach (contact prospects and their families, contact high school and junior college coaches; scout high school games and practices in search for talent; view film of prospects, etc.) On-the-field coaching and assigning in the game preparation of the team, as assigned by the head coach.
c. Be concerned and involved with the day-to-day welfare of the student-athletes and their conduct outside the playing arena. Be concerned and involved with the academic progress of student-athletes and his attaining his undergraduate degree.15% Game plan opponents as assigned by the Head Coach (in person and/or by film analysis, depending on NCAA and conference regulations).
5% Participate in public relations activities by representing the Department of Athletics at alumni meetings, civic clubs, high school banquets, etc.
Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with two years experience coaching football at the collegiate or professional level. Knowledge and commitment to NCAA rules and regulations.
Special or Physical Qualifications:
Ability to work extended days and weekends. Travel is required.
