- Sets up event related equipment such as picnic tables, umbrellas, trash cans, bleachers, set-up planters.
- Sets-up and dismantles a variety of structures for various events held throughout the year at the fairgrounds.
- Removes trash from buildings and around the property, and empties and relines trash barrels.
- Keeps event trash-free; maintains cleans restrooms and other areas for patrons.
- Prepares exhibit buildings for move-in by cleaning and stocking supplies.
- Operates a variety of equipment including forklifts, manlifts, floor scrubbers, motorized utility carts and hand tools.
- Cleans and stocks restrooms and inventories janitorial supplies.
- Adheres to all workplace and job specific safety guidelines, and uses personal protective equipment as instructed.
- Coordinates requests from event promoters with other departments including Maintenance and Events Sales & Service.
- Provides information to supervisor for event recap reports.
- Maintains daily notes on specific tasks assigned and equipment rented.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a valid California driver's license.
- Previous experience with janitorial work necessary.
- Ability to successfully handle and prioritize multiple tasks required.
- Ability to work well with others a must.
- Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with supervisor, co-workers and patrons necessary.
- Excellent teamwork skills required.
- Must be well groomed.
- Must be able to follow basic instructions and be willing to work weekends.
- Some duties will require the use of small tools.
- Must be able to work all 23 days of the annual OC Fair.
- Ability to operate forklifts, manlifts, floor scrubbers, carts and hand tools strongly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of the proper use of hand tools a plus.

Event Operations CrewRate of Pay:
$18.50 per hour
Position Purpose:
Provides janitorial and set-up/tear-down support to the Event Operations department. This is a seasonal/temporary position not to exceed 122 days.
