- Fingerprinting:
- Remote: Allow 10 days
- In-person: Jackson or Grenada campus (week prior to start)
- Beds: 32
- Typical Ratio: 1:5 (can go to 1:6)
- Adjusted down for higher acuity patients
- Minimum 1 year RN experience (first job)
- Level 1 Trauma or very large hospital experience required
- Travel experience with extension preferred
- Must be comfortable with:
- Lines
- Chest tubes
- High acuity patients
- Hem/Onc & Chemo experience preferred
- ONC certification NOT required
- Manager will teach chemo administration (great learning opportunity)
- May titrate:
- Heparin
- Amiodarone (initiate then transfer to cardiac unit)
- Cardiac drips on 3 South only
- Tele capability on all units
- Central monitor station notifies RN
- Charge nurse takes light assignment (full if needed)
- Nurse managers on-site M–F business hours
- Adult House Supervisor:
- After 3pm M–F
- All weekend
- Educator & manager per unit (smaller units share)
- Nurse aides on all units
- CPAP/BiPAP (RT assists)
- High flow available on 2N
- Tele on all units
- 12-hour shifts:
- 7a–7p
- 7p–7a
- Travelers fill holes
- Block scheduling accommodated when possible
- Open to weekend-only travelers (not required)
- Every other weekend or 2 per month (may increase based on department needs)
- Within skillset
- All staff float between MedSurg units
- Higher acuity patients typically assigned to core staff
- Any solid color scrubs
