    Description

    Duties * Apply new data mining and analysis techniques including data discovery, data preparation, modeling, and visualization through repeatable methods.

    * Create the data architecture with analysis based on sound data and knowledge of information systems and design. * Identify requirements for substantial research efforts and provides timely, authoritative, and sound advice on their implementation. * Provide management with expert technical guidance and recommendations for achieving the organization's objectives.

    Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

    * Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

    * In accordance with Change 3 of AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, must successfully pass a urinalysis for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.

    * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (SCI).

    * Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may be required 15% or less of the time.

    * All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.

    Basic Requirements:
    A)

    Degree:
    Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position.

    The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.


    Or Combination of education and experience:

    Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.

    In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

    Specialized Experience To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

    Specialized experience is defined as experience in one or more of the following areas:

    data science research, data management and/or data mining techniques related to Scientific and Technical Intelligence (S&TI) and/or General Military Intelligence (GMI).

    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12).

    You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

    • Problem Solving
    • Teaching OthersEducation

    FOREIGN EDUCATION:
