Description

The Stationary Engineer position entails being accountable for overseeing all operations in the central utility plant systems, including high-pressure steam boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems. The role requires multi-craft skills (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) for troubleshooting and repairs, preventive maintenance, and identifying improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities:

Maintain safe and efficient operation of equipment
Adjust controls to meet hospital demands
Record data and actions taken
Direct and coordinate activities of other workers
Respond to emergency repairs
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance
Keep logs of work performed
Enhance technical competency
Follow safety procedures
Communicate effectively with associates
Identify improvement opportunities
Evaluate and recommend repair actions
Participate in new system start-up and commissioning
Assist contractors with maintenance and repairs
Respond to emergency events and initiate necessary actions
Perform other assigned duties

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience as a stationary engineer or related field
Boiler Operator certification
Pass Federal background check
Able to troubleshoot complex problems
Proficiency in computer software
Excellent communication skills
High school graduate or equivalent
Basic construction knowledge
Ability to read blueprints
Physically able to handle job requirements

Physical Demands:
Must lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop, climb, and stand for extended periods. Occasional exposure to elements like heat, noise, dust, chemicals.
