Description

The Patient Care Tech performs routine duties within the limits of documented training for the emergency department and other patient care areas as needed.

The care is rendered under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse. He/she facilitates the information and activity flow to and from the nursing unit. He/she will also assist to answer phones, take messages, make phone calls, fax orders,etc.

He/She will also be competent to monitor telemetry and report cardiac rhythm changes to the nursing staff for further investigation when indicated.

He/she will have good customer service, computer and organizational skills. All other duties as assigned that are within the scope of practice.
