Job Title: LPN-Resident

Company: Prisma Health

The LPN-Resident role involves attending quality and core curriculum classes, participating in professional development workshops and peer support groups, and completing clinical competencies and validation requirements of the Nurse Residency Program. Under the supervision of the Clinical Education Team, the LPN-Resident refines nursing knowledge and skills, managing clinical situations with a licensed Registered Nurse overseeing experiences and procedures. Team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's Compassion Standards.

Service Line: Adult Multi-Specialty Services

Location: Oconee Memorial Hospital

Unit: Cardiac Telemetry

If you are a new grad or LPN with less than one year of nursing experience, our Nurse Residency Program is designed for you. It combines foundational and specialty-specific clinical core curriculum, quality classes, simulation, one-on-one skills validation, hands-on application with clinical mentors, and professional development.

Accountabilities

Data Collection: Collects patient data, completes required forms, identifies patient problems/needs, and communicates with the RN.
Planning Care: Provides input on the plan of care, makes referrals to support services, and participates in interdisciplinary care teams.
Implementing Care: Provides treatments and care according to standards, understands patient needs, provides discharge teaching, and acts as a patient care advocate.
Evaluation: Records patient care, makes observations, implements nursing measures, and demonstrates respect for patient rights.
Leadership: Integrates cost-effective measures, escalates issues to the RN, participates in quality improvement processes, and ensures safe working conditions.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This position does not involve management and will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

Completion of a LPN program recognized by the SC State Board of Nursing. Candidates with more than 12 months of LPN experience are ineligible.

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

Licensed to practice as a LPN in South Carolina

Other Required Skills and Experience

N/A

In Lieu Of The Above Minimum Requirements

Program equivalency recognized by the SC State Board of Nursing accepted in lieu of LPN program completion.
