    Overview

    The Associate Director will play a key role in supporting the Friends Council on Education's mission to promote and enhance Quaker education. This individual will work closely with the Director and other staff members to coordinate various initiatives, provide leadership, and ensure the smooth functioning of the organization.

    Responsibilities

  • Program Management:Collaborate with the Director to plan and execute programs, events, and peer network gatherings that align with the organization's mission.Collaborate with staff on the logistical aspects of events, including venue coordination, participant registration, and materials preparation.
  • Member School Engagement: Work to strengthen relationships with member schools and educational institutions.Provide support and resources to member schools, addressing their needs and concerns.Assist in the membership development of potential new schools.Manage the Member Renewal Process and serve as liaison to the Membership Committee of the Board.
  • Communications:Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization's communication strategy.Help to maintain and update the organization's website, social media accounts, and other communication channels.Help create newsletters, reports, and other materials to keep members informed about the Council's activities.
  • Collaboration:Collaborate with other educational organizations, Quaker communities, and relevant stakeholders to enhance the impact of Friends Council on Education.Represent the organization at conferences, workshops, and other relevant events.
  • Financial Management:Assist in budgeting and financial planning for the organization.Monitor and manage budgetary resources for specific programs and initiatives.
  • Research and Development:Stay informed about current trends, emerging issues, and best practices in education.Contribute to the development of new programs and initiatives that align with the evolving needs of Quaker education.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, nonprofit management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in educational administration, program management, or a related field.
  • Experience with Quaker practices and a commitment to Quaker education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
